Derek and Carol Morris visited the HomeWorld Display Village at Kellyville, looking for a builder for their knock down rebuild project, and were amazed at what they saw.
“It was quite a shock (or pleasant surprise) to see the choice of home designs available. We had a narrow but deep block of land so were looking for a builder specialising in narrow width homes.
“We never found the need to go anywhere else other than HomeWorld. We checked out about four different builders and spoke to friends who also had built homes recently.
“After choosing Bellmarch Homes and the design we wanted, we really enjoyed looking around the display village for decorating and colour ideas from other homes. This really helped us to make some structural and cosmetic changes, knowing with confidence what it would like,” said Carol.

The Morris’s had lived in the Sans Souci area in a duplex that wasn’t really suiting their needs. “Having a daughter approaching teenage years, working from home and having friends and family staying with us about 2-3 months of the year we simply wanted more space.
“The trouble was we hadn’t seen anything already built that we liked or could afford,” said Carol.added.
“We chose Bellmarch Homes because they had the basic design we liked. We thought their quality of work was really good and the people we were dealing with were really helpful.
“What really impressed us about Bellmarch, after signing up with them, was the weekly written communication we received on the job progress and the next steps to be taken. This gave us a huge degree of confidence knowing what was happening and if there were delays – what was the reason,”
Derek and Carol took advantage of the flexibility available with HomeWorld builders by making lots of changes to the contemporary design they had chosen.
These included; swapping rooms, extending their length, increasing the size of the bedrooms as well as increasing the number and size of the windows to allow as much light as possible to the interiors.

The two storey home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms plus a powder room and a double garage.
“We love the size of the bathrooms and the double vanities. The bedrooms have high windows above the beds creating a natural picture out onto the neighbours’ trees.
“In the two living areas, the biggest attraction is the light and space and that is exactly what we wanted. Generally, we are delighted with the beach feel and have tried to recreate this inside with maximum light and space and the natural colours we have chosen.
“The outdoor patio deck area has bi-folds opening onto the porch giving an outside feel when you are inside increasing the feeling of spaciousness. Another feature we are very happy with is the dining area where we have included a low feature wall looking out onto a tropical garden bed with ferns and Buddha for a tranquil effect. Finally the high positioned windows in the casual lounge and two bedrooms are great as they look out onto the sky or the tops of neighbouring trees.”
Replacing an old home with a brand new home, from a HomeWorld builder, enables you to enjoy living in the area of your choice where you know the local community and its facilities. It also costs less per square metre to build a new home rather than renovating.
The HomeWorld Display Village is at Kellyville, up the Windsor Road off Samantha Riley Drive.
